Try Commenting on This Post

Welcome to the Respectify demo for WordPress!

This is a standard WordPress installation. This post is a standard blog post. However, you can add comments — and those comments are processed by Respectify.

We aim to improve online discourse by assisting people to write better comments. Anything you write here will be assessed for major problems (eg offensive statements, slurs, etc) as well as writing issues (such as logical fallacies, meaning that what is written may not really make sense when examined, even if it sounds good; or short comments that don’t really add anything to the conversation.)

If it passes, it’s posted.

If not, never fear! We give some gentle feedback, and ask you to edit and then try posting again.

For website authors, this should mean all comments meet a minimum baseline of being well thought out, and well communicated.

For commenters, our main goal is to teach. We hope online communities using Respectify will see their commenters improve, meaning over time Respectify will flag comments less and less and let more through… because Respectify’s presence improves people’s writing over time.

Try commenting here. It’s publicly accessible; anyone and everyone may have tried before you did. Write something. Respectify is configurable, and this site has the default settings. It’s not strict and not casual. Not every comment it allows with these settings will be super high quality; they should all be actively okay, ie, nothing you’d be embarrassed to have posted on your own site. When you test it, if it flags something you think should be let through, you most likely can configure it to do so when using Respectify on your own site.

Go ahead, write a comment!
